12 petals (6 upturned and 6 down turned), a middle undecorated region
and the interior containing the seeds of the flower. The material is mottled
green and translucent gray.

in the form of a Foo Lion holding a ball, it's face upturned with open
mouth and pronounced eyes. The natural creamy white, brown and black tones
of the stone are masterfully used in the composition. The base is incised
with an unknown seal.

A VERY FINE JADE RECUMBENT HORSE

carved from mottled tan and brown nephrite and possibly to be used as
a brush rest for the scholar's table in addition to a fondling piece.
The hind quarters of the horse are quite warn from rubbing as are other
areas of the stone.

Approximately 3.00 inches in diameter
in the form of a tree trunk covered in prunus blossoms with three qilong
climbing the side of the vessel to the mouth. The largest of the three
creatures is carved in high relief and accentuated by the natural stone
colour. The body of the vessel tapers at the bottom to a recessed foot.
Carved wood stand to fit.

exquisitely replicating it's ancient bronze prototype in both form and
decoration and carved from nephrite of mottled tan, brown and red colours.
The basin is supported by three robust legs extending from the center
of each taotie mask. Two handles are at the rim. Carved wood stand to

of octagonal form and intricately carved with a band of taotie designs
along the body below a band of key fret pattern at the upper rim. The
body tapers at the bottom to a raised octagonal foot rim. The top of each
handle is also decorated with taotie designs.

finely carved with bamboo form handles, one with a monkey to the side.
The body is carved with prunus blossoms below a band of key fret and tapers
at the bottom to a raised and splayed foot rim. The material is a of muttonfat
white colour with mottled areas of light brown.

finely carved with anthropomorphic designs from Nephrite Jade of mottled
gray and brown colour. The upper region is carved with a grain pattern
above richly patterned designs forming a human face at one side and tail
at the other. The scrollwork at the sides resemble an ear. The base is
inscribed with a geometric seal. Carved wood stand to fit.

beautifully carved in the form of a pomegranate from nephrite jade of
white colour with areas of mottle beige. The ovoid form flairs at the
mouth to represent the calyx and the base narrows to a raised foot rim.
A gently curved handle is to the side. The fruit is peeled back in one
area to reveal the seeds.

3.00 inches tall with stopper
of flattened form, the stone of muttonfat white colour with tan inclusions
at one side. The front and back are carved with four character hallmarks
and archaistic taotie designs at the sides. Inside the raised foot rim
is incised Yijin zhai referring to the studio name of the
Qianlong Emperors 11th
son Yongxing, a noted calligrapher and collector of Snuff Bottles.
